CCC Ponds

The ponds at basically full capacity on May 16, 2020.

A pleasant ride just about 10 minutes from Pinedale.  A good choice when the higher elevation trails are snowed in.  Good access to Fremont Lake beach in May before the crowds hit.  There are several options here including riding on a two-track or trail blazing through the sagebrush.  Has mountain and lake views and of course the water features.  We are told it is very popular with hikers and bikers. Surprisingly, we have never encountered crowds here and on May 16, 2020 (a Saturday) we were the only ones there. You can google "CCC Ponds" for general directions.

Beaver Pond area

One of the tracks we did in May, 2019.  A little over 4 miles on this one.  We started at the parking area just off the road.  There is room for one rig and some turn around space.

This is a ride taken on May 2, 2020.  About 4 miles total. Easy parking just off the main road.

This was a track we did on May 16, 2020, which went close to the marina parking area. (Nothing here indicated no horses) The yellow arrows point to possible parking.  The pink arrow points to the  Pond parking area.  Again, no indication that horse trailers are not allowed.  There is a rest room there.

May 2, 2020

Can be part of a "loop" ride.  On the left side of the fence is private property.

Beach access in May.  Some ice still in the lake.

The place where horses can drink and cross the "canal".  This was in early May, 2019.  On May 16, 2020, this canal was too deep to cross safely.
